Dear Doctor
Enclosed an order restoring me to command.  The Secretary of War had by a telegraphic order to Genl. Morris forbid the muster in of any one in my place.  This was Corbit's physical disability for the position.  

I told you I would come back.  If it had not been the spontaneous wish of every soldier of the Regt. I would not. 

My triumph is complete.  No body remains in the Dept. now to fight.

Tell John Graham to put all my clothes in my trunk.  Some things are hanging up in the rooms at Mrs. S. and send it to the Relay.  I will not be up for several days.  I want my trunk sent down at once.  Tell old Q.M. to bring it I want to see him.  Show Rank my order
