Wilmington Sunday Star Del. [begin stamped text] JAN 24 1954 [end stamped text] Lewis E. Pierce Lewis Ezra Pierce, 67, of New London Road, Route 2, Newark, died yesterday morning. Born at Kemblesville, Pa., the son of the late Ezra and Jennie Pierce, he had been a resident of Newark all his life. He was associated with the National Vulcanized Fibre Company of Newark for 21 years, and was head of the Newark local of the Fibre Workers Union, AFL. He was a member of Wesley Methodist Church. Besides his wife, Elsie Mercer Pierce, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Camac, Moorestown, N. J.; Mrs. Natalie Taylor, Newark; Miss Ethel Pierce, Wilmington; three sons, L. Donnell Pierce, Elsmere; Harold E. Pierce, Lancaster, Pa.; Ralph L. Pierce, Newark; two sisters, Mrs. George Hobson, Middletown; Mrs. George Edgar, Lewistown, Pa.; also 16 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. One son, H. Wayne Pierce, was killed in World War II. Funeral services for Mr. Pierce will be held Wednesday afternoon from the R. T. Jones Funeral Home, Newark, with interment in White Clay Creek Cemetery.
