Abstract
This study was undertaken as a means of evaluating the American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta.
With a belief that a degree of professionalism is desirable
in any occupational field, it was hoped to determine whether or not the A.A.B.G.A. was serving the role of a professional society in the field of public horticulture.
A questionnaire was sent to the membership, and from their answers a membership profile was established. Questions which asked for membership opinion were included as a
means of determining membership satisfaction with the organization .
