Primary Care Physicians in Delaware, 2006

Title: Primary Care Physicians in Delaware, 2006

Authors: Toth, Tibor; Ratledge, Edward C.

Abstract: In 1995, the Division of Public Health began an effort to measure the number and spatial distribution of primary care physicians practicing in Delaware. The objective was to identify medically underserved areas and to understand any existing or developing trends that could impact the supply of primary care services. Subsequent surveys were conducted in 1997, 1998, 2001, and 2006. This report builds on the previous findings and provides a descriptive analysis of all data collected from 1995 through 2006 about primary care physicians who currently hold a Delaware medical license and provide clinical medical services in Delaware.

The Total Cost of Health Care in Delaware, 2005

Title: The Total Cost of Health Care in Delaware, 2005

Authors: Condliffe, Simon; Ratledge, Edward C.

Abstract: Many states across the nation are attempting to better measure personal health care expenditures. They are doing this for two predominant reasons. First, policymakers need to understand the structure and size of those costs to more fully comprehend the problems of access that can be related to cost. This report intends to provide current estimates of health care expenditures in the state and to describe some of the dynamics that influence those expenditures. Second, policymakers need to understand the future course of these costs so that appropriate plans and policies can be developed to
support their citizens. This report builds on previous reports and intends to provide current estimates of health care expenditures in the State of Delaware and to describe some of the dynamics that influence those expenditures.
