Issue Date: 2006
Abstract: Many states across the nation are attempting to better measure personal health care expenditures. They are doing this for two predominant reasons. First, policymakers need to understand the structure and size of those costs to more fully comprehend the problems of access that can be related to cost. This report intends to provide current estimates of health care expenditures in the state and to describe some of the dynamics that influence those expenditures. Second, policymakers need to understand the future course of these costs so that appropriate plans and policies can be developed to support their citizens. This report builds on previous reports and intends to provide current estimates of health care expenditures in the State of Delaware and to describe some of the dynamics that influence those expenditures.
