En sus documentales los jóvenes realizadores exploran el significado de las ruinas cubanas y su relevancia para la reconfiguración de la identidad nacional. Estos filmes tienden a reinterpretar la cubanía desde una perspectiva fluida y heterogénea. Alejándose de las formas rígidas de la cultura institucional, inscriben la dislocación afectiva en términos de una percepción individual marcada por las emociones y los sentimientos. During the past three decades cultural production in Cuba (and about Cuba) has witnessed a growing interest in documenting the country´s material and symbolic collapse. Young filmmakers have explored the meaning of Cuba´s ruinscapes and their significance in shaping contemporary Cuban identity. Their documentaries share a reconfiguration towards a more fluid, sentiment-based articulation of Cubanness.
