AbstractIn an effort to better understand the demographic characteristics and health status among the adult population of persons with disabilities in the State of Delaware, a retrospective analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance (BRFSS) Survey was undertaken. This study provides important baseline information necessary for developing public policy and identifying service needs intended to improve the quality of life among adults with disabilities in the State of Delaware. The results indicate that the health status of adults with disabilities in the State of Delaware is fair to poor and this population has a much greater risk of having various other chronic health conditions, such as coronary heart disease and diabetes, than individuals who do not have a disability.en
