| Description | The findings discussed here are based on the Disaster Research Center’s third-year follow-up study on the seven Project Impact pilot communities. Data for this report were collected during the summer of 2000. The report is based on in-depth interviews that were conducted with officials who had primary responsibility for overseeing the implementation of the Project Impact initiative in their communities, analyses of documentary materials, and comparisons with data that were collected in earlier phases of this study. Topics addressed in this report include: the current status of Project Impact activities in the seven pilot communities; the status of Project Impact partnership-building efforts; partnering strategies; strategies for sustaining program momentum; variations in Project Impact management structures; perceived benefits and challenges associated with participation in Project Impact; and views on the future of the initiative in the seven pilot communities. | en |
