DescriptionThe foundation of the projections is the Delaware Population Consortium population projections released on November 5, 2015. The population projections are provided in four tables: White non-Hispanic, Black non-Hispanic, other non-Hispanic, and Hispanic. Each of these tables are constructed with projections from 0 years of age to 100 and over for males followed by 101 rows for females. Each column represents a single year beginning with 2014 and ending at 2040. This is presumed to represent the population from which school enrollment will be drawn. All students enrolled in the public schools, the private/parochial/home schools, and those in the population that are not enrolled for other reasons are included. As this population base changes its characteristics over the years of the projection; as it certainly will, school enrollment will as well. The population will change as births and deaths occur and net migration takes place. The racial/ethnic mix of the population will also change over time as well. All will affect the enrollment that is projected.en_US
