Description	Ethnographic ceramics from Yingjing, Sichuan Province, China, made with half powdered coal cinder and half clay. Image analysis was done to compare porosity of unfired sherd (3% Total Optical Porosity), sherd that was fired in the kiln but did not go into the adjacent ash glaze pit (11% Total Optical Porosity), sherd that was fully fired and ash glazed (11% Total Optical Porosity), and overfired sherd (25% Total Optical Porosity). Image analysis was done using Image-Pro Premier with Smart Segmentation tool. Full details about the coal-clay ceramics of Sichuan Province are found in: Chandra L. Reedy, Pamela B.
