| Abstract | A fines del siglo XIX y en los comienzos del XX, en el marco de la consolidación de un Estado nacional en Argentina, fue importante para ese Estado tomar en sus manos una serie de funciones como eran las cuestiones de orden social. Paradójicamente fue en ese momento cuando la participación de las mujeres en la esfera pública se multiplicó. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la importancia que tuvo la presencia de las mujeres católicas en la esfera pública en el centro de la provincia de Buenos Aires, a raíz de sus acciones en pro de la infancia. Abstract: In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, as part of the unification of the national state in Argentina, it became important for the State to handle certain social functions. Paradoxically, it was at that same time that the participation of women in the public sphere increased. The aim of this paper is to analyze the significance of the presence of Catholic women in the public sphere in the center of the province of Buenos Aires, resulting from their pro childhood work. | en_US |
